When I first watched the video, I knew people would get the benefit from it. And as so many "music" people are creative, coming up with different ideas shouldn't really be a problem.
I'm glad to be of service to you.

Check out this quote I got from one of my friends a couple days ago. Not sure where he got it from, but it rings so true - "Get people to believe that resources aren't the problem. Challenge them every time they say otherwise. I don't come across many companies that are resource-constrained. I find lots that are imagination-constrained."

Great post! I was at Digital Summit and saw this live. Masnick is definitely onto something. The only way we are going to survive as "music companies" is to embrace the "hybrid economy" and find a way to make money off of "free". It IS possible, but many of the execs in the ivory towers are going to have to wake up and smell the opportunity.

Good to be connected with you Trevor... http://www.twitter.com/randallfoster

Personally I think to adopt this mindset is the best thing start up record label’s could do. I’m glad you like the post. Please feel free to spread the word.

You just keep persevering Vall. Because the music industry has changed, the opportunities for those that are not only creative with music, but also with business will win. This also means big opportunities for the indie.

Huge thanx Trevor for sending this my way...I\\\'m not too proud to say that it\\\'s been a while since I logged into your emails...call it synchronicity...what timing...

I\\\'m a singer and songwriter currently promoting my recently completed debut album live...building the fan base with every gig...had been relying on promoters to offer gigs etc the usual scanario...until I listened to the vid!!! What a revelation!! Thank you thank you thank you..

I\\\'ve just had a hell of a sleepless night after doing a gig which left me and my band feeling pretty humiliated and deflated. As my brain is running ahead of itself with half baked ideas inspired by the vid, I sharn\\\'t go into why...i need to write down and develope the ideas before they evaporate...but when my new model is up and running I\\\'ll get back to you.

Thank yooo thank yoo thank you....and the artists and presenter of the vid for making me realise that I ( and the band members) have more resources available at my/our finger tips than I had first thought and that I no longer have to be reliant on \\\'I don\\\'t really give a shite about your music, talent, the work, time and energy you put in to bringing people to the gigs.. & even tho I\\\'ve booked you in advance won\\\'t even bother adding your name to the specific promotional gig poster or website listings as long as I receive the money for the tickets ( In advance)...\\\' greedy small time promoters to raise my profile.
Watch this space!
